Washed by the Holy Spirit
I found the simplicity of this message really refreshing and full of truth. I just loved how he explained baptism back to its root meaning: to wash, soak, immerse. And how 'immerse in the Spirit' is essentially 'mercy' or God's mercy for His people. I think I get caught up in technicalities and making the Holy Spirit complicated, as it is something so beyond our scope and profound; but yet, at its root, immersing His people in the Spirit is a way that God washes us and cleanses us of our sins. He has mercy on us, and shares His love in Divine ways that we can graciously accept. It is important to be reminded of who God is in His simplicity, love, and how He is approachable and constant, yet loves deeper than we could ever logically comprehend.
Another interesting concept which is simple yet profound in its nature, is the fact that God does not just take away our sins and strip us clean of them; but He fills us newly with the Spirit. He occupies us and uses this cleanliness for good and so that we can know Him and live like Him. He does not leave us empty but makes us new in Him. Praise God for His persistence and goodness!
